2025 Award Winners 

The Opera Foundation for young Australians is delighted to announce the Winners of the 2025 Awards:

    • The Michael Byrne Vienna State Opera Award
    • The Deutsche Oper Berlin Award
    • The Lady Galleghan London Award
    • The Sundell American Institute of Musical Studies Award
    • The Berlin Music Opera Award

The Opera Foundation for young Australians is able to open doors to the stages of major opera houses and supports the artists in this process.   This is the Foundation’s point of difference from other arts funding bodies.

We are thrilled to provide five young Australians this year with the opportunity to progress their careers. The quality of the applicants was extremely high and the Adjudicators skillfully made their individual selection.

Our Awards are unique in nature therefore Winners are selected for their suitability to each Award. In 2025 the Foundation opened up the Awards to Australian Citizens based anywhere in the world and celebrates over 61 years of providing these opportunities.

In 2025, The Foundation continues our partnership with KAWAI Australia, a much valued relationship.
